  This document provides background information about the planned San Gabriel River Discovery Center (SGRDC). The project consists of a new building and site construction for the Discovery Center located in the city of South El Monte. The project will replace an existing facility with a new building with an anticipated gross area of 14,700 SF and provide a new and enlarged parking area for staff and visitors, a new Outdoor Classroom with restrooms and associated site work. The project will be designed to achieve LEED Platinum.
